Cotton candy

Poetry touched  me
when no one else wanted to
and it didn’t want to leave.
Neither did I want it to go
Every letter tuned right sends static to the skin and shivers to my spine.
embracing me as leafy arms of a tree embraces
giving cool shade
on a hot summer’s day
water to drink
while the sun is on high
merciless, cruel upon its intent
I have a heart deep
his heart deeper
with ability to turn my knees
go gooey like jellyace
and I’m like this little child
he buys cotton candy
